Parys – HF Verwoerd Pupils’ Achievements
Although squash is not (yet!) an official school sport, HF Verwoerd Primary School in Parys is proud of their junior squash players, who have achieved the following in the last year: Girls u/11 Danja van Ryhn – Northern Free State colours Reese Thompson – Northern Free State and Free State colours Elske Gabers – Northern Free State and Free State colours Reese and Elske also represented the Free State at the IPT’s where their team won all their matches. Reese and Elske are both still u/9 and it is therefore a great achievement to have made the Free State team for girls u/11. Boys u/11 Lukas Meyer – Northern Free State and Free State Petrus-Louw van Ryhn – Northern Free State and Free State (Lukas and Petrus are both u/9 and made the Free State team for u/11’s) Giovanni De Swardt – Northern Free State and Free State Enrico de Swardt – Northern Free State and Free State Boys u/13 Joshua van Zyl – Northern Free State and Free State Girls u/13 Chenique vd Westhuizen – Northern Free State and SA country districts Jarike Du Plessis – Northern Free State and SA country district Almari Claassen – Northern Free State and SA country district Lealma Sinclair – Northern Free State and Free State. Also ranked 10 on SA rankings. Charlotta Loggenberg – Northern Free State and Free State. Also ranked 3 on SA rankings. Charlotta and Lealma’s Free state team were also unbeaten at the IPT’s and walked away with the winners trophy.
Juniors and Schools
The Juniors’ Squash Club training sessions will be starting up again as from Friday the 18 January 2013. It will take place at the Arcelor Mittal Squash courts every Friday from 14h30 till 16h30. All interested juniors, i.e. school children, welcome to attend. All schools welcome.
